Handmade from 18k gold and sterling silver, Demeter is the Grecian goddess of the harvest who had the unique ability to make plants grow and prosper. Her face is carved from a recycled piano key, and her features delicately scrimshawed by hand. The necklace is reversible - showing the moss agate stone on the back - and includes a sterling silver French rope chain. Demeter represents the abundance of the earth and the natural growing process and cycles of life. The necklace measures 2" x 1.8".

Each goddess necklace is signed on the bottom by the artist and includes a beautiful double-rope sterling silver chain. The standard chain length is 18" but can be substituted for 16", 20" or 24."
Demeter was the goddess of the harvest and the mother of Persephone in ancient Greek mythology. When her daughter was kidnapped by Hades, Demeter withheld her abundance, and all crops withered on the vine until Zeus intervened to help her.
