Freyja, Norse Goddess of Magic
Freyja, Norse Goddess of Magic
magic, love, beauty
Handmade from sterling silver and 18k gold, Freyja - the Norse Queen of Heaven - is shown wearing her falcon feather coat that flies her between the worlds. Her face is carved from a recycled piano key, and her features delicately scrimshawed by hand. The necklace is reversible - showing the stone on the back - and beaded with natural pearls. Freyja was a goddess of magic and happiness, and she shepherded the souls of fallen heroes to the sacred hall of Folkvang with the help of her Valkyrie maidens. She measures 1.6" x 1.8".

The Norse goddess Freyja was the goddess of love, beauty, fertility, and magic. A strong priestess, Freyja possesses a magic coat made of falcon feathers that allows her to fly between worlds. She rides in a chariot pulled by mighty cats across the bridge between Heaven and Earth. When Freyja was sad and shed tears, the drops fell to the earth and became amber; where they fell in the sea, they became gold, and both precious materials are sacred to her.
